1. How much does a used engine cost in Europe?
Our engines run between €1,200 and €4,500 depending on make, motorisation and reference mileage — delivery included. GBP available on request. Send us your registration or VIN for a firm quote in under two business hours.
2. What is the difference between used, reconditioned and remanufactured?
Used: engine pulled from a donor vehicle, sold as-is or after light cleaning. Reconditioned: tested, key wear parts replaced, sold with warranty. Remanufactured: stripped to bare block, machined, rebuilt to OEM tolerances. Motorol engines are reconditioned: every unit tested, documented, warranted for ten months.
3. Is it cheaper to replace the engine or buy another car?
If your car is otherwise sound — bodywork, gearbox, suspension — a reconditioned engine and professional fit typically costs a quarter of an equivalent replacement vehicle. We publish a guide with worked examples in our magazine.
4. How do I know which engine fits my car?
Send us your registration plate, VIN, or engine code and we check compatibility manually before quoting. The four characters of an engine code (e.g. CFF, OM651, N57) are the most reliable identifier. If the engine we ship doesn't match the validated reference, we cover the swap and the transport at our cost.
5. How long does it take to receive my engine?
Five working days on average to France, Benelux and Germany. Seven to ten to Southern Europe, the UK, Switzerland and the Nordics. Every shipment is tracked and insured. Full delivery information.
6. Do you supply only, or supply and fit?
Supply only. We focus on what we do well — sourcing, testing, documenting and shipping engines. We can recommend partner workshops in most European regions if you don't already have a fitter.
7. How long is the warranty on a Motorol engine?
Ten months from first start-up after fitting, on condition the fit is done by a qualified professional and documented. Full warranty terms.
8. What does the warranty cover and what voids it?
Internal mechanical defects of the engine. Voided by: amateur fitting, fitting outside manufacturer specifications, overheating, contaminated fuel, modifications. The warranty page lists every condition without the small print games.
9. What happens if the engine arrives faulty?
Open a dossier within seventy-two hours of delivery if the issue is visible on receipt, or as soon as it surfaces during fitting. Most issues resolve remotely with your fitter. If a return is needed, we organise pickup at our cost. How after-sales works.
10. Do you deliver across the UK and the EU?
Yes. Standard delivery to twenty-two European countries, with the UK on quote. Customs duties and import VAT are payable on arrival for non-EU destinations and are not included in the quote.
11. Do I need to return my old engine (core exchange)?
No. Motorol does not require core returns — the price you see is the price you pay, with no surcharge held back for old-engine exchange. Disposal of your existing engine is your fitter's responsibility under EU end-of-life vehicle rules.
12. What support do I get after the engine is fitted?
A named contact, four communication channels (phone, email, WhatsApp, client portal), four working languages, and a documented after-sales process. Read about after-sales.
